Help us create community green space and pollinator habitat under the power lines in the Rainier Beach.
The Green Line is a collaborative restoration project taking place under Seattle City Light’s transmission corridor in South Seattle. We have studied wild bees in the area for 3 years, and planted one acre of pollinator habitat to test how pollinator populations are affected. We are excited to be expanding our planting area and working with many partners to investigate new ways to make public green space more inviting and accessible!
At this project, you’ll learn more about the 100+ species of bees our team has identified, and the native plants and nesting habitats they need to survive! We have samples from our bee survey collection for you to investigate, and can help you identify ways to help wild bees at home.
We need your help to care for our native plantings, build soil health, and remove invasive weeds! On this day, we may be:
We will have water and light refreshments available. It is a short drive to access a public restroom.
